IDF Strikes in Southern Lebanon: 40 Sites Hit, 10 Hezbollah Members Killed

Weekend Strikes and the Hit List

Forces from the 91st Division launched a weekend operation that hit more than 40 locations across southern Lebanon. The offensive focused on buildings used for military activity, weapons storage areas and at least one launcher; the action left over 10 members of Hezbollah dead and multiple structures destroyed.

The Artillery Brigade took point, targeting combat equipment depots and other infrastructure believed to support attacks against forces along the border.

Ceasefire Friction and Airspace Alerts

All of this unfolded during a fragile ceasefire. Despite the truce, exchanges continued: there were reports of strikes south of Beirut, claims of an attack near northern Israel and an aerial object detected and intercepted in the operational area over Lebanon.

Troops have been operating inside a demarcated buffer often called the “yellow line,” a stretch that extends into Lebanese territory and where residents have been advised to remain away. Daily skirmishes and targeted strikes have kept tensions simmering along the frontier.

Talks, Warnings, and the Diplomatic Tightrope

Diplomatic efforts press on, with Lebanese and Israeli delegations preparing for another round of direct talks in Washington after earlier meetings produced a temporary ceasefire and a short extension. Negotiators stress the process is likely to be slow given long-standing complications.

At the same time, political and military actors on both sides have issued warnings about possible escalations, signaling that conditions on the ground and the outcome of talks will both shape what happens next.
